The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation is an affiliate organization of the Illinois Junior Chamber of Commerce, commonly known as Jaycees, which is headquartered in Springfield, Illinois.
Our purpose of existence is to serve as a means of support for the Illinois Jaycees. It enables corporations and individuals to donate tax deductible gifts to the Jaycee organization.
The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Jaycees, past Jaycees, individuals, other organizations, businesses and corporations who share a common vision for the Jaycee organization.
The IJCF is administered by a 12-member Board of Directors. Nine of the members are elected at-large by the membership plus the President of the Illinois Jaycees, the Chairman of the Board of the Illinois Jaycees and the President of the Illinois JCI Senate. The President has the authority to appoint a maximum of five (5) non-voting members to serve as Advisors. See Board of Directors link.
The two priority areas of interest of the IJCF are:
- Providing a means of receiving tax deductible gifts for the Illinois Jaycees and their member chapters
- Awarding scholarships to Illinois high school students on behalf of the Illinois Jaycees
The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation can receive gifts in the form of cash donations, publicly-traded securities, real estate and other tangible property. The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation also accepts deferred gifts and bequests. We urge donors to include The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation in their final estate plans or wills. Any donation can be specified for a use by the donor to either a specific chapter, program or fund of the Illinois Jaycee organization. No gifts can or will be used for the payment of membership dues.
A representative of the designated recipient or program must solicit the donation from the Board of Directors prior to distribution. The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation has the legal right to maintain up to 10% of all gifts to cover administrative costs. Any specified gift receipts not claimed within 2 years of receipt will become the sole property of the Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation for distribution into a program or fund as approved by the Board of Directors.
The fiscal year of the Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation shall begin on the first day of July and end on the last day of the following June.
