Requesting Grant Funds

Any Jaycee-affiliated organization or cause can request a donation from the Foundation. All requests with proper paperwork are considered.
Funds may be requested from one of six funds:
  • Disaster Relief
  • Community Development
  • Emergency Medical
  • Individual Development
  • Scholarship
  • General Endowment

All fund requests must be approved by the Board of Directors, which meets three times a year in conjunction with the Illinois Jaycees General Assembly Meetings. These meetings are held on a Saturday of the GA.

Anyone wishing to present or request funds from the Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation should contact the Foundation President no later than the 1st of the month in which a Board of Directors Meeting is held to be placed on the agenda for the upcoming meeting.

A requesting organization must complete a Grant Application and submit it to the Foundation President with all required documentation at least three days prior to the meeting.

The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation has the legal right to maintain up to 10% of all gifts to cover administrative costs. Grant applications can be obtained from the Illinois Jaycee Service Center, the Foundation President, or by downloading the Grant Application from the IJCF website.

Special Project Sponsorship

A Special Project Request allows a Jaycee organization to conduct a community or individual development project, making tax-deductible donations available to potential donors.

When requesting IJCF sponsorship, you must submit the first seven steps of the project Planning Guide and a proposed project budget.

An organization member should appear before the Foundation Board and request the Foundation to serve as the sponsor of the project. Upon approval, the local chapter solicits all donations from potential donors in the name of the IJCF. Donation checks should be made payable to ILJCF or Illinois Jaycees Charitable Foundation.

The Foundation will maintain these funds in a restricted fund for the sole purpose of this project. The local chapter is required to provide a list of all monetary and in-kind donations for verification. Once the project is completed, the local chapter will submit a Grant Application to the Foundation for a specific amount of money along with the completed project financial statement. Since the Foundation will maintain a 10% administrative fee, your grant request should be for 90% of the amount collected. The Foundation will then issue checks to the local chapter (covering their expenses) and to the named charity for the remaining funds (if applicable).

Matching Fund Request

A Matching Fund Request enables a Jaycee organization to conduct a community or individual development project and request a matching funds donation from the Foundation up to a certain amount for that project.

When making a request, you must submit the first seven steps of the project Planning Guide, a proposed project budget, and the Grant Application for the amount requested.

An organization member should appear before the Foundation Board and request a Foundation grant for a matching fund donation for the project. At the time the Foundation approves the matching fund grant, the amount of the grant will be determined.

Once the project is completed, the local chapter will submit a completed project financial statement and grant request. The Foundation will then issue a check to the local chapter or the named charity for the matching fund amount.

If the matching fund request is for a project that is also a Special Project Sponsorship, the guidelines for the SPS will be followed with the matching fund amount included in the final funds distribution.
